Makale Özeti:
|
It is obvious that, business ethics had declined during recent years. Such
thinkers as Milton Friedman believe that the only social role business should play is
the maximization of profits. A firm should contribute to the welfare of the country
through efficient production of goods and services. Social problems should be left to
the concerned individuals and governmental agencies.
M.Friedman's views are generally accepted as extreme views. People
accept the proposition that both the business firm and government have some
responsibility to act in the interest of the society they are in. An organization's
social responsibility covers its relationships with the external world, ethics is a
more general umbrella covering both external and internal relationships. Ethics and bussiness world are closely tied up with each;;other. Almost in every.business
decision, there is an ethical point. Therefore when making decisions, managers
must consider their responsibilities to the society. Managers must not forget that; n
ethical rules are like road maps. They are useful, even indespensablevbut they are
guidelines that must be used carefully, with constant attention paid to the textures
of the landscape.
