North-western Anatolia geographical location is in interesting place
because its environmental characteristic changes in short distance. But because of its
being next to the developed area an being in a fast developing have brought some
water sources problems with it. For that reason, in this presented research efficiency
of precipitation had been researched for the aim of determining the climate
characteristic and to provide the usage of natural potential. During the research of efficiency of precipitation for North-western Anatolia the methods of De Martonne,
Thornthwaite, Erinç and Sezer had been used.
Efficiency of precipitation shows an important changes in short distances.
With general line Marmara among the Aegean coast, inner parts of the region more
than the coast and from low to high it has been determined an increase in the
efficiency of precipitation. It had attracted attention that the driest is Bozcaada and
the wettest station is Uludağ. There has been clear differences between the value of
efficiency of precipitation determined according to the yearly average and the
efficiency of precipitation value that is livid every year. It has been observed that
there is a tendency going to drought in North-western Anatolia.
