In this study it was aimed to use the portfolio method, which is one of the newest educational and
assessment methods in Turkey, in chemistry education and make the students in Department of Chemistry
Education be aware of this method. For this reason, a portfolio study about Computer Assisted Chemistry
Education subject was selected. In Computer Assisted Education, because of the repeatability of the knowledge,
learning can be permanent. 29, fourth grade students in the Hacettepe University, Faculty of Education,
Department of Chemistry Education attended the applications. The portfolio study, which was prepared for the
computer assisted chemistry education applications, was evaluated with attitude scale towards computer. 17
students completed computer assisted portfolio applications in chemistry education subject successfully. It was
observed that students have difficulty in understanding the computer technology and their attitudes towards
computers were parallel to the
