Bu araştırmada, toplumsal bir kurum olan ailenin, Türkiye Cumhuriyeti tarihinde ilkokul/ortaokul/ilköğretim sosyal bilgiler kapsamındaki derslerin öğretim programlarındaki yeri ve önemi tarama modeliyle incelenmiştir. Aile bütün toplumlarda, toplumun en temel yapı taşı ve küçük bir örneği niteliğindedir. Türk toplumu için ise diğer kurumları etkileyen ve şekillendiren eksen kurum özelliği taşımaktadır. Ülkemizde bir kurum olarak aile konusu farklı öğretim düzeylerinde ve öğretim programlarında değişik şekillerde yer almaktadır. Aile konusunun yer aldığı ilköğretim sosyal bilgiler dersi ise ayrı bir öneme sahiptir. Sosyal bilgiler, hem toplumun geçirdiği değişimleri, hem gelişmeleri, hem de dönemin siyasi, sosyal ve ekonomik yönlerini birlikte yansıtan bir ders özelliğine sahiptir. Bu araştırma kapsamında incelenen öğretim programlarında aile konusuna yer verildiği, konular belirlenirken programın hazırlandığı dönemin siyasi, ekonomik ve içtimai durumunun göz önüne alındığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

This study examines the place and importance of family, a social institution, in primary/secondary social studies course curriculums in the history of Turkish Republic. The model used in the study is the screening model. Family is the building block in all societies and is a small sample of society. And for the Turkish society, family is an axis institution affecting and shaping other institutions. Family as an institution is covered at different teaching levels and programs in our country. The social studies course in which family is taught has its own importance. The social studies is a course in which the changes and developments within the society are reflected together with the political, social and economic aspects. In the curriculums analyzed in the scope of this study, it is found that family issue is included in the curriculums and while determining the issues, the political, economic and social conditions of the period are considered.
