Mühendisliğin temel görevlerinden biri, gerçek dünya problemlerini çözerek, insana ve topluma hizmet etmektir. Diğer yandan, sürdürülebilir kalkınma için Ürün Geri Kazanımı (ÜGK), ekonomik ve ekolojik açıdan büyük öneme sahiptir. Bu nedenle, ÜGK için Lojistik Şebeke Tasarımı (LŞT) stratejik seviyede bir planlama konusudur ve sistemin performansı ve dolayısıyla işletmenin kârlılığı ve sürdürülebilirliği ile çok yakından ilgilidir. Günümüzde / gelecekte, Türkiye’de ve tüm Dünyada, hızlı artışı nedeniyle Atık Elektrikli ve Elektronik Ekipman (AEEE), hem bir tehdit hem de bir fırsat haline geldiğinden / geleceğinden artan bir ilgi kazanmaktadır / kazanacaktır. One of the main mission of Engineering is to serve human and society by solving real-life problems. On the other hand, Product Recovery (PR) for sustainable development has a great importance from the aspects of ecological and economical. Because of this, Logistics Network Design (LND) for PR is a strategic level planning topic and closely related to the performance of the system and profitability and sustainability of the business. Nowadays / in the future, in Turkey and over the world, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) have received / will receive an increasing concern due to its rapidly rising and so that bocome / will become both a threat and an opportunity. In this context, a state of the art of literature review of quantitative models developed to strategic planning in LND for PR and specifically for WEEE, the current status and potential oppurtunities / future research directions have been evaluated.
