Makale Özeti:
|
Developing clear and rigorous standards for what students should know and be able to do in an academic subject is a common strategy for educational reform. Geography for Life: The National Geography Standards (1994, 2012) illustrates this mechanism in the United States. The purposes, processes, and pitfalls of developing academic standards are discussed. Five recommendations for both content and performance standards conclude the paper.
