The paper focuses on the contents, message of Slovak translation theorists as well
as their contribution to international translation studies. At the same time, the paper presents and
seeks for application of their theoretical musing in contemporary transation studies and searches
for possible reasons of their often inadequate interprertation and lack of theoretical ―updating‖.
