Education is a social process. The basic function of education is to
transmit the culture which is the product of the social life. So, education is a
social reality both with its base and with its function. The reason why education
varies from society to society is that each society's products of social, political
and economic values that make the culture differ. As for the education is a social
institution and also a social process, Sociology of Education emerging from
Sociology is also a social science studying on the social foundations of
education. In other words, Sociology of Education studies on the relationship
between education and society and its institutions.
