|
The two opposing themes : life and death show themselves continuously
interacting with each other in Tezer Özlü's works. In this research, Charles
Moauron's psychoanalysis method was applied ant the author's two stories titled
"Dönüş" (Return) and "Gizli Bahçe" (The Secret Garden), which covered the
period between 1964 and 1968, were comparatively studied in order to search for
the origin of his "obsession of death" in his life and works. It was aimed to find out in which stage of these pathological elements of the author's subconscious
personality formed the conscious of these two stories and where and how the
themes of life and death became identical and reached the said of subconscious
personality of the author. It was also aimed to reveal how he managed his
redemption through literature from the state that Freud and Beck called as
"sublimation" mechanism" and the psychological conflict that occurred in the
author's life.
