Bir anlatı türü bir dönemde üretilir ve tüketilirken değişen zaman ve zemine
bağlı olarak yeni anlatım türleri ortaya çıkar. Bu süreçte eski anlatı türünün üretim ve
tüketimi durur; ancak bu tür tamamen yok olmaz. Çeşitli şekillerde kendisinden
sonraki türlerin içinde varlık veya etkisini devam ettirir. İnsanlığın anlattığı ilk anlatı
türü olan mitler de üretim ve tüketimleri durduktan sonra ortaya çıkan yeni anlatı
türlerinde etkisini devam ettirir. Sivas’ta derlenen masallarında mitlerin etkisi
görülür. Bu etki insan –tanrı, insan-şeytan ilişkisi; kişiler, olaylar, zaman, mekân ve
kökenle ilgili anlatılar olarak ortaya çıkar.

While a narrative genre is composed and consumed during a period, new
narrative genres emerge depending on time and place. In this process, the
composition and consumption of the old narrative genre stops. However, it does not
disappear completely. It keeps its existence and impact in the following other genres
in various ways. After the composition and consumption of myths as a first narrative
genre having been composed by human beings, it survives in new narrative genres.
The effect of myths is seen in the compiled tales of Sivas. The effect is emerged in
human-god, human-Satan relations in terms of people, events, time, place and
origins.
