Isauria bölgesinin başkenti olan Isaura antik kenti korunaklı bir tepenin üzerine inşa edilmesi nedeniyle günümüze kadar varlığını kısmen de olsa koruyabilmiştir. Korunabilen kalıntılar arasında kentin etrafında konumlandırılmış nekropoller ve nekropollere ait mezarlar dikkat çekmektedir. Isaura kenti nekropollerinde yer alan mezarlar, bölgede varlığı bilinen diğer kentler arasında nekropol kavramını tam olarak karşılayabilmesi ve birden fazla mezar tipinin bir arada barındırması nedeniyle önem arz etmektedir. Çalışmanın konusunu bu nekropollerde tespit edilen mezar tiplerinden birisi olan ostotekler oluşturacaktır. Isaura nekropollerinde tespit edilen ostotekler iki tipte olup sayıca fazla değildir. Fakat ileriki dönemlerde yapılacak detaylı kazı çalışmaları sonucu toprak altında kalanların ortaya çıkmasıyla bu durum değişiklik gösterebilir.

Isaura ancient city which is the capital of Isaura region has partly continued its existence till today as it was built on a sheltered hill. Among the protected remains, the necropolises around the city and tombs that belong to necropolises attract attention. The tombs in the necropolises of Isaura City have importance as they are real necropolises compared to the ones in other cities known in the region, and as they include different types of tombs. The ostotheks, which are one type of tombs found in these necropolises, will be the subject of this research. The ostotheks found in Isaura necropolises are in two types and are not many. However, this situation may change after finding out others as a result of the detailed excavation work in the future.
