Bu çalışmanın amacı, lise giriş sınavlarında yer alan populasyon ve çevre
konusundaki grafik sorularının, öğrencilerin algılama ve yorumlamalarındaki yanılgılarını
belirlemektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini Muğla Merkez ilçeden rastlantısal olarak seçilen 5
ilköğretim okulunun 8. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Önceden uzman görüşü alınarak
geçerliği sağlanan 20 çoktan seçmeli sorudan oluşturulan test uygulanmıştır. Bu soruların 9
tanesi lise giriş sınavlarında çıkmış sorular olup 11’i de diğer yardımcı kitaplardan
alınmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucu SPSS 11.0 programında yüzdelik dilim ve frekansa göre
yorumlanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda öğrencilerin çevre ve populasyon konusundaki grafik
sorularını yorumlamada yanılgıları bulunduğu tespit edilmiş ve öneriler getirilmiştir.

The aim of this study is to define these conceptual mistakes in the students’
interpretation and perception of the graphic questions about the subject of envıronment and
populatıon and on population. The models of this quantative study are the 8. class students of
5 primary schools which are chosen by coincidence in the center county. The test consists of
20 multiple choice questions and its currency is obtained by having expert’s idea. 9 of these
questions are ones which were asked in the entrance exam of high schools before and the
other 11 questions are taken from practice books. The result of this study has been
interpreted according to the frequencies and percentage of SPSS 11.0 programme. The result of the research has showed that, students have some mistakes in perception on interpretation
of graphic questions about the subject of environment and population, in that respect some
offers have given.
