High Temperature appears in the contact surfaces of a clutch system (friction surface and pressure plate) due to the relative motion between these parts during the sliding period. These high temperatures are responsible for several failures such as pressure plate crack, pressure plate warpage etc. With the help of Finite element analysis, the sliding friction process of the pressure plate and friction during clutch engagement is simulated to get temperature
eld characteristics and contact pressure of pressure plate.
