Bu çalışmanın amacı, İlköğretim Matematik Öğretmenliği Programı birinci
sınıf öğrencilerinin; nokta, doğru, düzlem ve bunlarla ilgili bazı kavramların anlama
düzeylerini tespit etmektir. Bu amaçla bir geometri kavram testi geliştirildi (α=0,60)
ve Erzincan Eğitim Fakültesi İlköğretim Matematik Öğretmenliği Programı birinci
sınıf öğrencilerine uygulanmıştır. Uygulanan test sonucunda, bu kavramları başka
kavramlarla ilişkilendirdikleri, cinsiyetlere göre bu öğrencilerin nokta, doğru ve düzlem
konusunda oldukça yetersiz oldukları ve bu kavramlarla ilgili yanılgılara sahip
oldukları tespit edilmiştir.
İlköğretim ikinci basamak ve orta öğretim seviyesinde görev yapan öğretmenler,
temel geometrik kavramları olan nokta, doğru, düzlem ve bunlarla ilgili bazı
kavramları öğretirken, öğrencilerin bu kavramlarla ilgili kavram yanılgılarına sahip
olabilecekleri bilincinde olmalıdırlar. Çalışma sonunda, öğrencilere(aday öğretmenlere)
yukarıda bahsedilen kavramların öğretimiyle ilgili bazı önerilerde bulunuldu.

In this study, it is aimed to investigate freshman students’ perceptions attending
at Erzincan Education Faculty, Department of Elementary Mathematics
Education, point, line, plane concept and relations to the subjects some concepts. A
geometry concept test was developed (α=0.60) and administrated to the sampling
who are freshman students. As a result, the students link to the alternative concepts,
they have a lack of the subject which are the issued concepts respecting the gender,
and was determined a great deal of misconceptions.
When middle and secondary school teachers teach fundamental
mathematics concepts which are point, line, plane and some concepts related to all these should awake that students may have misconceptions regarding all these
concepts. At the end of the study, it was proposed to the pre-service teacher
regarding teaching of above-mentioned concepts.
