Bu çalışmanın amacı, ilköğretim 1-5 sınıf öğretmenlerinin, 2005 yılında uygulamaya
konan matematik programının misyonu hakkındaki görüşlerini cinsiyet, okuttuğu sınıf, mesleki
kıdem ve öğrenim durumu açısından incelemektir. Araştırma Sivas il merkezinde yapılmış
ve bu çalışmaya 258 sınıf öğretmeni katılmıştır. Bu amaçla, öğretmenlerin yeni matematik
programının misyonu hakkındaki görüşlerini değerlendiren 14 maddeden oluşan beşli
likert-tipi bir ölçme aracı geliştirilmiştir. Geliştirilen ölçme aracı örneklemdeki öğretmenlere
uygulanmış ve veriler toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistik, bağımsız örneklemler
için t-testi ve One-Way ANOVA kullanılmıştır. Veri analizleri sonucunda; sınıf öğretmenlerinin
yeni uygulamaya konan 2005 matematik programının misyonuna ilişkin değerlendirmelerinin;
cinsiyete, mesleki kıdeme ve öğrenim durumuna göre anlamlı farklılık göstermediği,
sınıf öğretmenlerinin okuttukları sınıf düzeylerine göre değerlendirmeleri kıyaslandığında,
sadece 1. ve 4. sınıf düzeyindeki öğretmen değerlendirmeleri arasında anlamlı bir
farklılığın olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in views of in-service
elementary school teachers on the assessment of mission of the new 2005 elementary school
mathematics curriculum by gender, first to fifth grade, length of service, education. There
were a total of 258 in-service elementary school teachers involved in this study that took
place in the city center of Sivas. The researcher gave a liker-type questionnaire consisting of
14 statements to the participants. This questionnaire was designed to find out the participants’
views about the mission of new mathematics curriculum at elementary school level. Descriptive
statistic and independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA were used in the analysis of
the data. This study showed that there were no gender-related differences in views of inservice
elementary school teachers on the assessment of mission of the new 2005 elementary school mathematics curriculum. There were no lengths of service-related and educationrelated
differences in views of in-service elementary school teachers on the assessment of
mission of the new 2005 elementary school mathematics curriculum. However, there was a
statistically significant difference found between 1st and 4th grade teachers’ views about the
mission of new elementary school mathematics program.
