Особенность источников личного происхождения, в частности, эпистолярного наследия, заключается, прежде всего, в том, что именно этот вид источников позволяет рассмотреть проблему более детально. Именно, учитывая определенные особенности эпохи, источники личного происхождения являются едва ли не наиболее достоверными и информативными, в частности, потому, что только в письмах к близким по духу и идеями товарищей (особенно в научных кругах) можно встретить действительно откровенное изложение мыслей, почувствовать определенную свободу, которую ученые надеялись сохранить в переписке. В данном исследовании в качестве базовых взяты материалы переписки К.В. Харламповича как одного из самых интересных и разноплановых личностей украинской научной сферы жизни в период, который исследуется. Анализ материалов переписки именно этой фигуры, дает возможность проследить более-менее полную картину степени влияния активизации советского режима на ход жизни и творчества украинской научной интеллигенции для прослеживания тенденций развития украинской науки на то время.

The specialty of the sources of personal origin, in particular, epistolary heritage, lies primarily in the fact that this kind of sources allows us to consider the problem in more detail. The value of this type of sources, in particular, is the ability to consider the problem from the emotions, through the subjective experiences and life circumstances. This is due to certain characteristics of the era of the sources of personal origin is probably the most accurate and informative, in particular, because only in letters to loved ones in spirit and ideas with colleagues (especially in academia) to meet do overt presentation of ideas, to feel a certain freedom, which scientists had hoped to remain in correspondence. In this study, as basic is taken the correspondence of K. V. Kharlampovich as one of the most interesting and diverse personalities of the Ukrainian scientific sphere of life in the period that is investigated. Analysis of the correspondence of this figure makes it possible to trace a more complete picture of the degree of influence of the intensification of the Soviet regime on the course of the life and work of the Ukrainian scientific community to track trends of development of Ukrainian science at the time.
