Günümüzde, çalışma alanlarındaki hızlı teknolojik gelişmelere bağlı olarak mesleğini gereği gibi yapabilecek kalifiye elemanlara olan ihtiyaç da artmaktadır. Emek yoğun bir meslek olan haritacılığın en temel sorunlarından birisi de nitelikli eleman eksikliğidir. Bu ihtiyacı karşılamak üzere haritacılık eğitimi veren farklı düzeylerde programlar mevcuttur. Ancak, bilgi ve beceri yüklü olarak mezun olması gereken öğrencilerden bir kısmının, mesleki teknolojik gelişmelere ilgisiz ve gelecek perspektiflerinden yoksun olarak meslek hayatına atıldıkları görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, ülkemizdeki diğer mesleki disiplinler arasında önemi giderek artan Harita Teknikerliği eğitimi alan öğrencilerin bu bölümü tercih nedenleri ve memnuniyetleri, mesleki teknolojik gelişmelere olan ilgileri ve gelecek planlarına yönelik bakış açıları bir anket çalışması yapılarak araştırılmıştır. Harita teknikerliği düzeyinde eğitim alan öğrencilerin anket sorularına verdikleri cevaplar karşılaştırmalı olarak irdelenmiş, tablo ve “excel” grafikleriyle görselleştirilmiştir. Sonuçta, öğrencilerin çoğunun mesleki teknik gelişmeleri yeteri kadar takip etmediği ve gelecek planlarının da tutarlı olmadığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca, bu alanda emek veren öğretim elemanlarına kalifiye teknik eleman yetiştirebilmelerine katkı sağlayabilecek öneriler de sunulmuştur.

Nowadays, the need for qualified personnel who can do the job as required increases due to the rapid technological developments in the fields of work. One of the most fundamental problems of geomatics is the lack of qualified staff. In order to meet this need, there are different levels of programs that provide geomatics training. However, it is observed that some of the students who must graduate with knowledge and skills are started into their professional life being indifferent to professional technological developments and without having any future perspectives. In this study, the reasons why students prefer studying Geomatics Technician which is becoming more and more important among other professional disciplines in our country and their satisfaction and students’ satisfaction with their department, their interest levels in the professional technological developments and their perspectives on future plans have been investigated by conducting a survey. The answers of the students who were educated at Geomatics Technician level to the questionnaire were analyzed comparatively, and they were visualized with tables and “excel” graphs. As a result, it was observed that most of the students did not follow professional technical developments sufficiently, and their future plans were not consistent. In addition, the suggestions that can contribute to the training of qualified technical staff were presented to teaching staff working in this area.
