Having the ability of communicating with different creatures, man utilizes various means to realize his aim.
One of the means he uses is the body language. Teaching profession requires the effective use of communicative
skills, particularly the use of body language. The ability of using the body language is crucial for the successful
outcome of the education, which is itself a process of communication.
The aim of this study is to determine the basic tendency of the teachers and point out some erroneous
attitudes with related to the use of the body language and suggest appropriate measures by attracting their attention
to this issue. An institutional study was carried out to realize this aim.
At the end of the study, considerable data was obtained with related to the quality of the body language use
in terms of professional achievement, the rules of effective use of the body language and common errors made by the
teachers. Suggestions were made on the ways to use the body language effectively.

Varlıklarla iletişim kurma becerisine sahip olan insan bu amaçla farklı araçlardan yararlanır. Onun,
iletişim kurmada kullandığı araçlardan biri de beden dilidir. Öğretmenlik mesleği, iletişim becerilerinin, özellikle de
beden dilinin etkin kullanımını gerektiren bir nitelik taşır. Beden dilini kullanabilme, bir iletişim süreci olan eğitimin
başarıyla sonuçlanması açısından çok önemlidir.
Bu çalışmanın amacı, öğretmenin beden dilini kullanabilme yeterliği ile ilgili temel yönelimleri, yapılan
önemli yanlışlıkları belirlemek ve öğretmenlerin dikkatlerini bu konuya çekerek uygun önlemler önerebilmektir. Bu
amacı gerçekleştirmek üzere kuramsal bir çalışma yürütülmüştür.
Çalışmanın sonunda öğretmenlerin, mesleki başarılar elde edebilmek için beden dili kullanımının
niteliğine, beden dilinden etkin yararlanma kurallarına, yapılan önemli yanlışlıklara ilişkin veriler elde edilmiş ve
öğretmenlerin bu dili etkili olarak kullanabilme yollarına ilişkin öneriler sunulmuştur.
