Uluslararası Standartlar Örgütü (International Standardization Organization– ISO) işletmelerin küresel rekabet ortamında kalite odaklı rekabet edebilmeleri için kurumsal uygulamalar geliştiren bir kurumdur. İşletmeler kurum imajı ve saygınlığı, rekabet avantajı gibi farklı nedenlerle ISO’nun yayınlamış olduğu standartları belgelendirmekte ve karşılığında işletme performansının artmasını beklemektedirler.
Bu çalışmanın amacı, işletmelerin sahip olduğu ISO sertifikalarının, işletmelerin karlılığına bir etkisinin bulunup bulunmadığını incelemektir. Borsa İstanbul 100 Endeksinde yer alan işletmelerin örneklem olarak belirlendiği bu çalışmada, Parametrik Olmayan Tekniklerden Mann-Whitney Testi ile analiz gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda örneklemde yer alan işletmelerin en fazla sahip olduğu ISO sertifikasının ISO 9001 olduğu tespit edilmiştir. İşletmelerin en az sahip olduğu ISO sertifikası ise ISO 14064 olarak belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca karlılığa en yüksek etki eden sertifikanın ISO 50001 olduğu belirlenmiş ve karlılığı en az etkileyen sertifikanın ise ISO 27001 olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

International Standardization Organization is an institution that develops corporate practices to enable businesses to compete in quality in a global competitive environment. Businesses document the standards issued by ISO for different reasons, such as corporate image and reputation, competitive advantage, and expect to increase firm performance in return.
The aim of this study is to examine whether the ISO certificates of the firms have an effect on the profitability of the firms. In this study, which is determined as the sample of the firms in the Borsa İstanbul 100 Index, the analysis was carried out with the Mann-Whitney Test of Nonparametric Techniques. As a result of the study, it is determined that the ISO certificate that the enterprises have the most is ISO 9001. ISO 14064 is the minimum ISO certification of the enterprises. It is determined that ISO 50001 certificate has the highest impact on profitability while ISO 27001 certificate has the least effect on profitability.
