Cari işlemler açığı ve cari açığın sürdürülebilirliği, bir ülkenin ekonomik performansının değerlendirilmesinde
önemli bir kriter olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bu nedenle cari açık sorunu gelişmekte olan ülkeler için önemini koruyan
konulardan biridir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye'nin cari işlemler açığının sürdürülebilirliğini 2010:M01-2020:M10 dönemi
aylık verileri ile incelemektir. Çalışmada ihracat ve ithalat serilerinin durağanlığı Fourier ADF birim kök testi, ADF birim kök
testi, Phillips-Perron birim kök testi ile analiz edilmiştir. Daha sonra seriler arasındaki uzun dönemli ilişkiyi belirlemek üzere
Fourier eşbütünleşme (FSHIN) testi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçları Türkiye'nin cari açığının zayıf formda sürdürülebilir
olduğunu göstermiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgular Türkiye'de cari açığın sürdürülebilirliğine yönelik politika
uygulamaları gerekliliğini göstermektedir.

The current account deficit and the sustainability of the current account deficit are considered as an important criteri
on inevaluating a country's economic performance. Therefore the current account deficit problem is one of the issues that
maintains its importance for developing countries. The aim of this study is to examine the sustainability of Turkey's current
account deficit with monthly data for the period 2010:M01-2020:M10. In the study, the stationarity of the export and import
series was analyzed by Fourier ADF unit root test, ADF unit root test, Phillips-Perron unit root test. Then, the Fourier
cointegration (FSHIN) test was used to determine the long-term relationship between the series. The results of study shows
that Turkey's current account deficits are sustainable in the weak form. The findings obtained from the study show the necessity
of policy implementations for the sustainability of the current account deficit in Turkey.
