Osmanlı’da nazmen kaleme alınmış eserler arasında hukûkî bir konum taşıyan fetvâlar da yer almış ve bazı şeyhülislâm veya müftüler kendilerine nazmen sorulan sorulara aynı şekilde cevap vermişlerdir. Çok da yaygın olmayan bu şekil belli zaman, çevre ve kişilerle sınırlı kalmış ise de, Osmanlı’da bu konuda bir geleneğin oluştuğu görülmektedir. İlk örnekleri 16.yüzyılın ikinci yarısında görülen bu fetvâlara 17-18.yüzyıllarda da rastlanmış, 19.yüzyıldan itibaren ise örnekleri çok azalmıştır. Bu fetvâların ilk örneklerinin Kanûnî ve II.Selim dönemlerinde 30 yıl şeyhülislâmlık yapmış olan Ebussuûd Efendi ile başladığı söylenebilir. Manzum fetvâlar Klasik Türk Edebiyatı içinde de orijinal bir tür olarak ele alınabilir. Fetvâ kelimesi Arapça fetâ kökünden türemiş ve müşkil bir meselenin güçlü bir cevapla çözülmesini anlatmış, iftâ ise bir meselenin hükmünün araştırılarak ortaya konulmasını ifade etmiştir. Osmanlı’da manzum fetvâlar her biri bir divan şairi olan şeyhülislâm veya müftülerin kaleminden çıkmış olup, bu şeyhülislâmların en başta geleni padişah ho¬calığı ile şeyhülislâmlığı aynı anda yürüten, tarihçi ve müderris Hoca Sadeddin Efendi’dir. Bu makalede onun tespit edilen manzum fetvâları tanıtılmaktadır.

Among the works written in verse in the Ottoman Empire, there were also fatwas that is a legal issue and some of the Shaikh al-lslams or Muftis have given the same answers to some of the questions asked to them in verse. In certain time not that common, though limited to people and the environment, a tradition in the Ottoman Empire in this regard has been seen to occur. First examples of these fatwas seen in the second half of the 16th century, common to these fatwas were also found in the 17th - 18th century, whereas the samples are much reduced from the 19th century. The first examples of these fatwas can be said to have originated in the statutory period of 30 years and Selim II, who Shayikh al-lslam Ebussuud Lord. Fatwas in verse is an original type in the Classical Turkish Literature. The word fatwa derived from the root of the Arabic word “Fetai”, and told about shedding a light on a difficult matter to be solved and the word “ifta” tried to describe the dissolution of a matter to be illuminated by examining it. Fatwas in verse in the Ottoman Empire, each of which were penned by shayikh al-lslams or muftis who were Ottoman poets and one of the foremost of them has been the teacher of the two sultans and historian, professor and Shaikh al-lslam Hodja Sadeddin Effendi. This article introduces his detected fatwas in verse.
