Çalışmada; ilköğretim 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin ışık ünitesi altında “mercekler” konusunda; kavram karikatürü kullanımının öğrencilerin akademik başarılarına etkisini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmaya Manisa ili, Salihli ilçesinde özel bir dershaneye farklı ilköğretim okullarından gelen 25 ilköğretim 7.sınıf öğrencisi katılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak akademik başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda; deney grubu (kavram karikatürü) ile kontrol grubu (geleneksel anlatım) son test akademik başarı puanları arasında anlamlı bir fark çıkmamıştır. Bu sonuçlardan yola çıkarak bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

In the study, it is aimed to determine the effects of students’ academic achievements to using of the concept cartoons and traditional teaching at the secondary school of the 7th grade students about “lenses” under the chapter light. For that purpose, it is chosen the 25 students of 7th grade students teaching the different secondary schools coming to a private preparation course from Manisa and Salihli. Academically achievement test was used as a data collection tool. In the light of the findings, it is not founded the meaningful difference about students’ academic achievements between the use of two methods. Based on these results, some suggestions were made.
