ABSTRACT
In this study, the effect of constructivist theory on achievement of science teacher 1.grade students to understand of metal and nonmetal subject in chemistry courses has been investigated. The students were divided into two groups; experimental (40) and control (40). Before application, both group received 25 multiple-choice questionnaires pre-test. According to the results of pro-test there was no difference between the control and experimental groups (t=0.910; p=0.365). After the constructivist teaching method, post-test has been applied for both groups. The results of the post-test showed that the students, who received constructivist method were more successfully than control group (t=15.318; p=0.000

Bu çalışmada, Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin, kimya dersi kapsamında bulunan ‘Metaller ve Ametaller’ ünitesinde yapısalcı öğrenme kuramının öğrenci başarısına etkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışma, deney (N= 40) ve kontrol (N= 40) grubu olmak üzere iki gruba ayrılmıştır. Çalışma öncesinde 25 çoktan seçmeli sorudan oluşan başarı testi deney ve kontrol grubuna ön test olarak uygulanmıştır. Ön testin değerlendirilmesi sonucunda deney ve kontrol grupları arasında anlamlı bir fark olmadığı saptanmıştır (t= 0.910; p= 0,365). Çalışma sonunda elde edilen son-test başarı puanları ise, yapısalcı kurama dayalı kimya eğitimi alan grubun daha başarılı olduğunu göstermiştir (t= 15,318; p=0.000).
