The study was done in order to show the effect of multiple intelligence theory on students’ attitudes in geography education. The experimental research was constituted from one experimental and control group with the level of 9th class of secondary school situated in the centre of Ankara. In order to improve the reliability of the study, course teacher, students and guidance teacher were informed about multiple intelligence theory. The subject of “Outside Forces” was taught to the experimental group for 4 weeks according to the plans which was formed convenient to the principals of the multiple intelligence theory. The experimental group learning environment was enriched with activities which include all of the possible field of the intelligence and decorated with various of audio-visual tools and materials. The subject was taught to control group by their teacher with the methods of explanation and question-answer. Before and after the application, attitude scale was applied as pre-test and post-test to experimental and control groups. At the end of the research, a significant difference was determined in the favour of experimental group about the subject of “Out Side Forces” in 9th classes.

Bu araştırma, coğrafya eğitiminde çoklu zekâ kuramının öğrenci tutumları üzerine etkisini ortaya koyabilmek için yapılmıştır. Deneysel çalışma, Ankara merkezinde bulunan ortaöğretim 9. sınıf seviyesindeki, birer adet deney ve kontrol grubu olarak oluşturulmuştur. Araştırmanın sağlıklı uygulanabilmesi için ders öğretmeni, öğrenciler ve rehberlik öğretmeni çoklu zekâ kuramı hususunda bilgilendirilmiştir. Deney grubu ile çoklu zekâ kuramı ilkelerine uygun olarak hazırlanmış ders planlarından hareketle 4 hafta boyunca “Dış Kuvvetler” konusu işlenmiştir. Deney grubu öğrencileri için oluşturulan eğitim-öğretim ortamları, mümkün olduğunca bütün zekâ alanlarını içine alan etkinlikler, çeşitli görsel-işitsel araç ve gereçler yardımıyla zenginleştirilmiştir. Kontrol grubunda, düz anlatım ve soru cevap yöntemleri kullanılarak, dersin öğretmeni tarafından, “Dış Kuvvetler” konusu işlenmiştir. Uygulamadan önce ve sonra, deney ve kontrol gruplarına tutum ölçeği ön test ve son test olarak uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, 9. sınıflarda “Dış Kuvvetler” konusunda, tutum ölçeğinde deney grubu lehine anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilmiştir
