Bu araştırmada, ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin çevreye yönelik davranış ve düşünceleri cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi ve okul türü değişkenleri açısından belirlenmiştir. Araştırma, 2011-2012 öğretim yılında Hakkâri il merkezindeki ortaöğretim okullarında öğrenim gören 921 öğrenci üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada, “Ortaöğretim Öğrencileri İçin Çevresel Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Kullanılan ölçek “Çevresel Davranış Alt Ölçeği” ve “Çevresel Düşünce Alt Ölçeği” olmak üzere iki alt bölümden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada “Genel Tarama Modeli” ve “Nedensel-Karşılaştırma Yöntemi” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin analizi için SPSS istatistik paket programı kullanılmış verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistiklerden aritmetik ortalama, standart sapma, t-testi ve tekyönlü varyans analizi olan Anova kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, öğrencilerin çevresel davranış bakımından aralarında bir farklılığın olmadığı, ancak çevresel düşünce bakımından kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere göre çevre hakkında daha duyarlı düşündükleri ve ayrıca öğrencilerin çevre ile ilgili haberleri, basın-yayın yoluyla istenilen seviyede takip etmedikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

In this study, behaviors and thoughts of the secondary education students to the environment have been tried to be determined considering some of the variables. This research was applied on 921 students studying in secondary schools in the central province of Hakkâri in 2011-2012 academic year. “Environmental Attitude Scale for Secondary School Students” has been used in the study. The scale used consists of two subscales as “Environmental Behavior Subscale” and “Environmental Thought Subscale”. In this study, General Review Model has been used. In addition, SPSS statistical software has been used for the analysis of survey data obtained, and in the analysis of the data, arithmetic mean, standart deviation, t-test of descriptive statistics, and ANOVA, a one way variance analysis have been used. As a result of the study, it has been attained that there is not a significant difference between the students in terms of the environmental behaviour of students according to gender, but the female students think more sensitive than male students in terms of environmental thinking about the environment, and also the students do not follow the news about the environment through the mass media at the desired level.
