Bu araştırma İlköğretim 4.sınıf Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi, “Gruplar, Kurumlar ve Sosyal
Örgütler” öğrenme alanına bağlı “Hep Birlikte” temasının yaratıcı drama yöntemiyle
işlenmesinin, öğrencinin başarısını ne ölçüde etkilediğini ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlamaktadır.
Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 2007–2008 öğretim yılında Ankara ili, Keçiören ilçesinde,
Şehit Mehmet Altanlar İlköğretim Okulu’nda öğrenim gören 4/C sınıfı deney, 4/B sınıfı ise
kontrol grubu olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu araştırmada, öğrencilerin başarı düzeyleri ve “t”
testi sonuçlarına ilişkin nicel ve içerik analizine dayalı nitel veriler kullanılmasından dolayı
araştırma betimsel nitelik taşımaktadır. Nitel yöntem olarak öğrenci değerlendirme formundaki
veriler içerik analizi türlerinden frekans analizi kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. İçerik analizinde
başarıyı destekleyen sözcüklerin frekans ve yüzdeleri çıkarılarak gruplamalar yapılmış ve
yorumlanmıştır. Nicel yöntem olarak ise gerçek deneme modellerinden ön test, son test kontrol
gruplu model kullanılmıştır. Deney ve kontrol gruplarının Sosyal Bilgiler dersi “Hep Birlikte”
teması ön test ve son test puanlarının karşılaştırılarak öğrenci başarı düzeyleri arasında fark
olup olmadığı, SPSS programı aracılığıyla “t” testi ile yapılarak hesaplanmıştır. Uygulamadan
elde edilen sonuçlara göre deney ve kontrol gruplarının son test toplam puanları arasında
fark olduğu ve bu farkın yaratıcı drama yönteminin uygulandığı deney grubu lehine olduğu
görülmüştür. Bu sonuç dikkate alındığında, yaratıcı drama yönteminin Sosyal Bilgiler dersinde
kullanılmasının öğrenci başarısı üzerinde etkili olduğu görülmüştür.

This study is aimed for displaying what extent Creative Drama having been used in the 4th
class Social Sciences lesson, for the theme “Altogether” depending on learning areas Groups, Institutions and Social Organization effects the students’ achievement. The sample of the study
was determined objectively comprising of the students who are attending the classes of 4-B
as control group and 4-C as experimental group in Şehit Mehmet Altanlar Primary School in
Keçiören, Ankara in 2007-2008 educational year. This study has a descriptive quality due to
having been used qualitative data based on quantitative and content analysis about the level
of students’ success and the results of the t test in the study. Both qualitative and quantitative
methods were used in this study. The data in students’ evaluation form as qualitative method
was gathered by having been used frequency analysis which is one type of the content analysis.
Pre-test and post-test with control group which are the ones of the real experimentation models
were also used as quantitative method. Whether there was a significant difference between the
control group and experimental group in their test scores of the pre-tests and post-tests related
to the theme of “Altogether” in Social Studies class is analyzed by using t-test with the help of
SPSS. According to the results of the study, it is observed that there is a significant difference
between the total points of the post-test of the control and the experimental group in favor of
experimental group in which Creative Drama method was used. Based on the results, using
Creative Drama in Social Sciences class has an essential effect on students’ achievement.
