Bu araştırmanın amacı, bir eğitici olarak öğretmenleri olumsuz etkileyen strese yönelik
öğretmen görüşlerini belirlemektir. Bu amaçla Elazığ, il merkezi ve ilçelerindeki devlet ilköğretim
okullarında 2005-2006 Öğretim Yılı’nda görev yapan toplam 184 öğretmene anket uygulanmıştır.
Betimsel nitelik arz eden araştırmada elde edilen bulgular şöyledir: öğrenme-öğretme sürecinde
öğrencilere ilişkin öğrenme ve disiplin sorunları, zaman baskısı, öğretmenlerin düşük gelir düzeyi
ve sosyal statüsü ile fazla iş yükünün öğretmen stresinde etkili olduğunu anlaşılmıştır. Ayrıca
eğitimde yaşanan değişimler ve okul yönetimi ile ilgili sorunların da öğretmen stresinde orta
derecede etkili faktörler olduğu belirlenmiştir.

The aim of this research is to determine the views of opinions of teachers, as educators, on
stress that affects them negatively. In order to achieve this stated aim, a survey was applied to
184 teachers working in primary schools in Elazığ downtown in 2005-2006 educational terms.
Findings of this descriptive study are as follows: it is understood that the learning and discipline
problems regarding students in the instruction process, the pressure of time, and an overloaded
job are all effective on teacher stress. It is also stated that changes taking place in education and
problems regarding school management are sub-effective factors on teacher stress.
