Son yıllarda eğitim ve öğretimde çok hızlı değişme ve gelişmeler yaşanmaktadır. Her geçen
gün yeni yöntem ve teknikler ile yardımcı materyaller eğitim ve öğretimde etkin öğrenmeyi
sağlamak amacıyla geliştirilmekte ve kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada öğretim sürecinde
kullanılan görsel materyallerden grafiklerin etkili ve yerinde kullanımının öğrenci başarısına
etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada deneysel deseninin ön test ve son test kontrol gruplu modeli
kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya Ortaöğretim 11. sınıflardan seçkisiz yolla oluşturulan 60 (2 lise 3
sınıfı) öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmada ön ve son testlerden elde edilen veriler t testi ile analiz
edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, “Türkiye’de Nüfus” konusunun öğretiminde deneysel çalışmada
kullanılan grafiklerin, deney grubu lehine, başarı değişkeni açısından anlamlı bir farklılık
olduğunu göstermiştir.

In recent years, like other many disciplines, rapid changes and improvements in teaching and
learning have been happened in the world. In order to pursue effective learning in teaching and
education, new methods and techniques together with the supplementary materials are used in
every day past. In this study (paper), as one of the visual materials being used in instruction
process, effective and proper use of the graphics on students’achievement was investigated. Pre
and post test control group model of the experimental design was used at the study. Sixty (60)
randomly selected 11th grade (senior) high school students were participated to the research.
Findings gained from the pre and post tests were analyzed with t-test. Results reflected that the
use of graphics for teaching the subject of “Population in Turkey” was made statistically
significant difference on achievement in favour of the experimental group.
