Öğrenciler tarafından anlaşılması zor bulunan konuların akıcı ve anlaşılabilir şekilde
okunması ve yaş grubuna uygunluğu, bir ders kitabında bulunması gereken özelliklerdendir. Fizik
ders kitaplarında anlaşılması zor konuların yer alması nedeniyle, akıcı ve anlaşılır olarak
okunması önemlidir. Bu çalışmada Lise Fizik 1 ders kitabının okunabilirliği ve hedef yaş grubuna
uygunluğu araştırılmıştır. Okunabilirliğin araştırılmasında uluslararası geçerliliği olan Cloze
test prosedürü ve yaş grubuna uygunluğun araştırılmasında da FOG testi kullanılmıştır. Cloze
testi 40 lise 1. sınıf öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. FOG testi ise öğrencilere uygulanma özelliği
olmayan bir test olduğundan, sadece ders kitabı üzerinde uygulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, ders
kitabının okunmasında öğrencilerin bazı problemlerle karşılaşabileceği ve düşük seviyedeki
öğrenciler için ders kitabının okunma yaşının yüksek olabileceği sonuçlarına varılmıştır.

That subjects accepted to understand hard by students can be read fluently and clearly and
that they are suitable for age group are the characteristics that must be in a course book. Since
physics school books contain subjects which are difficult to be understood, it is very important for
them to be read fluently and clearly. In this study, readability and target age level suitability of
physics I high school course book are investigated. Cloze test procedure which is international
was used to investigate readability and FOG (frequency of gobbledygook) test was used to
investigate suitability for age level. Cloze test was applied to first grade pupils of 40 high
schools. As a result, it’s concluded that students might meet some difficulties while reading the
course book and that reading age of the course book might be high for low level students.
