Bu çalışmanın amacı; okuma-anlamadaki başarının matematik başarısına etkisinin olup
olmadığını belirlemektir. Bu amaçla, 2004 de yapılan öğrenci seçme sınavı (ÖSS) Türkçe testi
sorularından okuma-anlamayı gerektiren 15 soru ve matematik testi sorularından 15 sözel
problem olmak üzere 30 sorudan oluşan test geliştirilerek Atatürk Üniversitesi Ağrı Eğitim
Fakültesi Sınıf öğretmenliği (N=45) ve Fen Bilgisi öğretmenliği (N=39) bölümü öğrencilerine
uygulanmıştır. Öğrencilerin Türkçe ve matematik testlerindeki netleri arasında anlamlı bir
ilişkinin olup olmadığını kontrol etmek amacıyla “korelasyon analizi” kullanılmıştır. Korelasyon
analizi sonucunda örneklemdeki öğrencilerin Türkçe ve matematik netleri arasında anlamlı bir
ilişkinin olduğu görülmüştür

The purpose of the study is to determine whether there is any effect of the achievement of
reading-comprehension on the mathematics achievements. For this purpose, a test included 15
Turkish questions measured reading-comprehension and 15 mathematics questions as word
problems is developed and the test is applied to students at department of elementary teacher
education (N=45) and elementary science teacher education (N=39) of Ağrı Education Faculty
of Atatürk University.
In order to determine whether there is significant correlation between the scores of students
on the Turkish and mathematic tests, the correlation analysis was conducted. In the result of the
correlation analysis, there is a significant correlation between the score of the Turkish and
mathematic tests.
