Juniper (J. excelsa) community growing the oro-Mediterranean belt more than
1000 m in the Mediterranean Phytogeographical Region is also found in the vicinity of
Burhaniye. This community appears at an altitude of 500-1000m far 15 km from the
Aegean Sea.
The Mediterranean climatic conditions prevail in the juniper community named
Karincadere basin. It is necessary direct radiation and low humidity for the growth of
juniper community. The slopes facing west and southwest produce favourable habitat for the juniper. On the other hand the wind blowing from east a northeast directions lead to te
decrease of relative humidity. Thıse conditions produce the growth of the Juniper
community wich is found in the NW of Mediterranean phytogeographical region.
