Value pricing is an attempt to use product price to satisfy customers' increasing
demand for value, which in return is expected to generate extra sales. Value pricing can be
extremely risky. If properly conceived and executed remarkable result can be achieved,
otherwise it can be disastrous for the business. The purpose of this study is to help fast food
managers considering a move to value pncing, with the approach of "goal value and
profitability analysis" introduced here, in order to enable them determine which outcome
would be more likely. In other words to determine the relative profitability of an individual
menu item or entire menus for strategic planning purposes in a competitive envirenment.
