Bu makale, tefsirde muhteva ve metot iliĢkisini tahlil eden bir incelemeyi konu edinmiĢtir.
Bilindiği gibi genel anlamda âyetlerin ne ifâde ettiğini tespit etme faaliyetine tefsir, bu
faaliyeti konu edinen ilim dalına da tefsir ilmi denmektedir. Önceleri Hz. Peygamber ve
sahâbeden, âyetlerle ilgili rivâyetlerin aktarımı ve bir araya toplanmasıyla Ģekillenen tefsir
faaliyeti, asırlar geçtikçe aklî çıkarsamaların da yer aldığı eserlerden oluĢan zengin bir
literatür halini almıĢtır. Bu çerçevede ortaya çıkan her tefsir ekolü, Kur‟ân âyetlerini kendi
bakıĢ açısıyla yorumlamaya çalıĢmıĢtır. Yaygın bir kanaate göre, âyet hakkında yapılan
açıklama yani tefsir faaliyeti, müfessirin tefsirde izlediği metoda göre Ģekillenmektedir.
Bizim kanaatimiz ise yorumlanacak olan âyetin muhtevasının, tefsirde en az izlenen metot
kadar hatta çoğu zaman daha fazla etkili olduğu yönündedir. Bu paralelde örnek olarak
seçilen Ġbrâhim Sûresi 24-26. âyetler kronotipolojik perspektifle; tarihsel süreç içinde öne
çıkan tefsirler ıĢığında incelenmiĢ ve ortaya çıkan sonucun belirttiğimiz fikri teyit eder
nitelikte olduğu görülmüĢtür.

This article is the product of a research which is analyzing the relationship between content
and method in tafsir. In general, activities made to determine the meanings of the Qur‟anic
verses are called the tafsir activities and the branch of science that deals with these activities
is called “the science of tafsir” (commentary). This activity is primarily consisted of the
transmission of narratives about the Qur‟an verses from the Prophet Mohammad and his
companions. Over the centuries tafsir science has become a rich literature that included the
works which involve rational inferences. In this context, emerged schools of tafsir which try
to interpret the Qur‟anic verses by their own perspectives. According to general opinion, the
statements about the Qur‟anic verses (tafsir activity) are shaped according to the tafsir
method. In our opinion, the content of the Qur‟anic verse which interpreted during tafsir
activity is effective at least as the interpreting method (tafsir method) or more than that. In
this context, 24 to 26 verses of Surah Ibrahim in the Qur‟an were selected as examples and
these verses have been discussed on the chrono-typological perspective; in the light of
important tafsirs (commentaries) in the historical process and the result confirmed the idea
which have stated above.
