The aim of this study is to reveal to what extent the fourth grade students in the primary schools in the city of
Çanakkale have acquired the skills directly offered in the course of Social Studies. The study is a descriptive
study since it aims to reveal the situation as it exists. The study was carried out by means of general
screening model. The population of the study consists of fourth grade students at the primary schools in the
city of Çanakkale. The "Scale of Directly Offered Skills" of 48 questions that is developed by the researchers
and used to measure 8 directly offered skills was utilized in the study as the data collection tool. The
selection of samples was performed by means of random sampling in the population. A total of 397 fourth
grade students were selected in the study. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS-22) program
was used in the data analysis. The study utilized the techniques of frequency, percentage, and independent
samples t-Test methods. That the students marked scores close to the maximum possible score in all of the 8
directly offered skills planned to be acquired by students in the course of social studies, indicates that these
skills have been acquired by the students. In terms of achievement in social studies course, there has been a
significant difference in favor of the students with high achievement in social studies course in all of the
areas of 8 directly offered skills.

Araştırmanın amacı dördüncü sınıf sosyal bilgiler dersinde doğrudan verilecek becerilerin kazanılma
durumunun değerlendirilmesidir. Araştırma genel tarama modelinde bir çalışma olarak düzenlenmiştir.
Araştırmanın evrenini Çanakkale ilinde bulunan ilkokulların dördüncü sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır.
Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen 48 sorudan oluşan “Doğrudan
Verilecek Beceriler Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma, random olarak seçilen toplam 397 öğrenci üzerinde
yürütülmüştür. Verilerin analizi için SPSS-22 paket programı kullanılmış, frekans, yüzde ve bağımsız gruplar
için t-testi tekniklerinden yararlanılmıştır.Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre 8 doğrudan verilecek
becerinin tamamında da dördüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin azami puana yakın puan almaları bu becerilerin
öğrencilerce yeterli düzeyde kazanıldığını ortaya koymuştur. Ayrıca sosyal bilgiler ders başarısı yüksek olan
öğrencilerin doğrudan verilecek becerilerin tamamında anlamlı olarak diğer öğrencilerden fazla puan
aldıkları ortaya çıkmıştır.
