Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaokul 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin Türk Dünyası algısını belirlemektir. Araştırma betimsel
tarama modelinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış anket
kullanılmıştır. Anket Ankara ilinde 150, Sinop ilinde 149, Şanlıurfa ilinde 150 7. sınıf öğrencisi olmak üzere
toplam 449 katılımcıya uygulanmıştır.
Verilerin analizinde SPSS 17 istatistiksel yazılımından yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın problem durumu ve alt
problemlerinin çözümlenmesinde; betimsel istatistikler kullanılmış, t-testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA)
teknikleri uygulanmıştır.
Araştırma bulgularına göre, 7. Sınıf öğrencilerinin zihin haritasında Türk Dünyası algısına yönelik toplam
puanları cinsiyet, atlası bulunma durumu, yaşadıkları il ve sınıf mevcudu değişkenine göre farklılaşırken, harita
inceleme ve okulunda Sosyal Bilgiler sınıfı/laboratuarı olma değişkeni açısından anlamlı bir farklılık
bulunmamıştır. 7. Sınıf öğrencilerinin Türk Dünyası ile ilgili bilgiyi en çok ders kitaplarından öğrendiği en az
ise tarih kitaplarından öğrendikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin yaklaşık % 90’ının iki ve ikiden
az ülke bildiği sonucuna varılmıştır. 7 bağımsız Türk Cumhuriyeti’nden en fazla doğru bilinen ülke Türkiye
olurken en az doğru cevaplanan ise Kırgızistan olmuştur.

The aim of this research is to determine the Turkish world perception of 7th grade students. The research has
been made in descriptive scanning model. In research, semi-structured questionnaire has been used as data
collection tool. The developed semi-structured questionnaire was applied to 449 7th grade students. 150 students
from Ankara, 149 students from Sinop, 150 students from Şanlıurfa has filled in the questionnaire.
SPSS 17 statistical software was used in the analysis of collected data. In the solution of the problems and subproblematical
areas, descriptive statistics such as frequency, arithmetic average, standard deviation and t-test,
one way variance analysis (ANOVA) was used.
According to the results of the research, 7th grade students’ perception of Turkish world points have meaningful
variables such as sex, having an atlas, the city they live in and the amount of the students in a class. Studies on
map and the social sciences laboratory doesn’t effect the students’ Turkish world perception. It was concluded
that 7th grade students had gotten the most information about Turkish world by their course books. They get the
least information by history books. It was concluded that approximately 90 percent of the 7th grade students had
known two countries or less. Turkey is the most known country from the seven independent Turkish Republic.
Kyrgyzstan is the lesser-known country..
