Bu çalışmanın amacı öğretmen adaylarının akademik branş memnuniyetleri
ile öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelme ve kariyer geliştirme arzuları arasındaki
ilişkiyi belirlemek ve memnuniyet düzeyleri ile mesleki yönelim ve kariyer
geliştirme arzularının cinsiyet, öğrenim görülen bölüm, sınıf düzeyi ve
öğretim türü değişkenleri açısından farklılık gösterip göstermediğini ortaya
koymaktır. Tarama modelindeki araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Sakarya üniversitesi
eğitim fakültesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 3. ve 4. sınıf öğrencileri
oluşturmaktadır (N=1123). Araştırmanın verileri akademik branş memnuniyeti
ölçeği ile öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelme ve kariyer geliştirme arzuları
ölçeğinden elde edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının akademik
branş memnuniyetinin orta düzeyde olduğu bulunurken, öğretmenlik
mesleğine yönelim ve kariyer geliştirme arzularının orta düzeyden düşük
olduğu bulunmuştur. Elde edilen bulgulara göre öğretmen adaylarının akademik
branş memnuniyetleri ve öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelim ve kariyer
geliştirme arzuları cinsiyet ve öğrenim görülen bölüm türü açısından farklılık
gösterirken, akademik branş memnuniyeti ile öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelme
ve kariyer geliştirme arzusu ölçeği ve çaba, ısrar ve arzu alt boyutları arasında
anlamlı, pozitif ve düşük düzeyde ilişki, liderlik alt boyutu ile anlamlı,
negatif ve düşük düzeyde ilişki bulunmuştur.

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between academic
branch satisfaction and the desires for inclining teaching profession and
career development of prospective teachers, and to determine whether the
level of satisfaction and the desires for inclining teaching profession and
career development show difference in terms of gender, department, grade
level and type of education variables. The study group of the research consists
of 3rd and 4th grade students studying in Sakarya University Faculty of
Education (N=1123). The study data was obtained through academic branch
satisfaction scale and the desires for inclining teaching profession and career
development scale. The research results showed that the desires for teaching
profession inclining and career development of the prospective teachers were
lower than moderate level while their academic branch satisfaction was
found to be moderate. According to the findings, academic branch satisfaction
and the desires for teaching profession inclining and career development
of prospective teachers showed differences in terms of gender and type of
department. The findings also showed that there was a significant positive
low relationship between the academic branch satisfaction and the desires
for teaching profession inclining and career development scale and the effort,
persistence and desire subscales, while a significant negative low level
relationship was found between the scale and the leadership subscale.
