Her alanda çok ciddi gelişmelerin yaşandığı bir dünyada değer eğitimine olan ihtiyaç da giderek artmaktadır. Özellikle değerlerin kazanılma sürecinde insan hayatında ilköğretim kademesinin önemli bir yeri vardır. Türkiye’de sosyal bilgiler dersi kapsamında 2005 yılında yürürlüğe giren yeni müfredatın en önemli özelliklerinden biri de değer boyutudur. Bu araştırmada, sosyal bilgiler dersinde iki önemli parçanın, değerlerle kazanımların ilişkisinin bir değerlendirmesini ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Bu nedenle “Sosyal bilgiler dersinde kazanımlar ile doğrudan verilecek değerler arasındaki ilişki nasıldır?” sorusuna cevap aranmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 6. ve 7. sınıf sosyal bilgiler öğretim programında yer alan değerler ile kazanımlar arasındaki ilişki incelenmiş, kazanımların değerleri yansıtıp yansıtmadığı tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma tarama türünde nitel bir araştırma olarak tasarlanmış ve veri toplama aracı olarak doküman incelemesi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre bilimsellik, barış, hak ve özgürlüklere saygı değeri ile kazanımlar arasında ilişki kurulabilirken; diğer değerlerle kazanımların, genel olarak zayıf ve dolaylı yollardan ilişkili olduğu sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

The need for education of values follows a continually growing trend, in a world where distinct critical developments take place. Especially in the process of acquisition of values, the elementary level of education has a crucial role to play, as it shapes the rest of a human’s life. One of the most significant aspects of the new national curriculum for social studies, which was introduced in 2005, is its value dimension. This study intends to put forth a comparative analysis of the two vital constituents of a social studies class, namely, acqusition and values. Therefore it seeks an answer for the question, “What is the relationship between the gains (acquisitions) and the values intended to be given directly at a social studies class?” For the purpose, the study performs an analysis of the relationship between values and acqusitions that are made part of the social studies educational scheme adopted for 6th and 7th grade students nationwide, in an attempt to determine if the acqusitions do reflect the values being taught. It is presented the form of a qualitative study based on context-specific scholarly scan and makes full use of the document review technique as the data acquisition tool. As to results, based on findings obtained, while a significant relation can be observed between values like scientific acceptability, peace, respect for fundamental rights and freedoms on one hand and the gains (acquisitions) on the other, the relationship between other values and acquisitions were concluded to low or indirect.
