Geography education in Pakistan has not been evaluated so far, causing many problems in the progress of this subject. This research article is an attempt to get initiative in this regard. There are certain challenges which geography education presently facing in Pakistan including, curriculum
development, status as a scientific discipline, effective teaching and learning, resource deficiency and research promotion. Thus, absence of balance curriculum design at all education levels and lack of modern teaching techniques brought geography to static situation in Pakistan. There is a need of revising the curriculum, introducing training courses for teachers, sufficient resource allocation to the departments of geography for the maintenance of their laboratories and research activities, and to promote geography as a strong academic discipline nationally and internationally.
