This research analyses the features of humanities courses in high school. The
paper reviews the experience of forming a communicative culture within students in the
United States, Canada and Ukraine. The author proposes an approach to forming a
communicative culture within students during the process of learning a foreign language on
the basis of communicative and role-playing methods of learning.
