This article attempts to give a comparative description of modern methods of
teaching foreign languages. In accordance with the requirements of modern society, focused on the
competitiveness of future professionals, there is a need for a new approach to the design of
objectives and learning outcomes, in this case, fundamentally new methods of teaching are used as
tools to achieve the goals

История обучения иностранным языкам насчитывает столетия. Особенно
бурно эта область образования начала развиваться с конца XIX века, когда, в силу известных
социальных и исторических процессов, возникла потребность в большом количестве людей,
владеющих одним или несколькими иностранными языками. Именно в этот период (конец
XIX – начало XX века) сформировалась методика обучения иностранным языкам.
