In Ukrainian onomastics is still no united approach in the studying of proper name in context of literature texts. This is also сaused by
different understandings of scholars the tasks of onomastic researches which is being to be one of the important reasons of mentioned above raised question. With this problem are also related terminological controversies in the frames of literature onomastics which are still being discussed in Ukrainian linguistics and first of all they are related to the discipline's name.
At the end of ХХ – the beginning of ХХІ century in Ukrainian linguistics have been formed different approaches in the orthonyms investigating in a literature text. Nowadays there are three major onomastics schools, which are represented by scientific researches of such scholars: U.O. Karpenko, L.O. Beley, V.M. Kalinkin and their followers. In the scholars' researches of each school was formed the own terminology to stress on particular field of studying, which deals with proper names in belles-letters and its substantiated usage.
Scientists distinguish a few approaches of proper names belles-letters studying. The first approach is lexicographical description of poetorthonymsphere of a single literature text or all literature texts of a particular writer. The second approach is based on a partial selection of orthonyms and their comprehensive study. Throught the studying of orthonyms from one text or from different literature texts of one author such an approach is seemed to be voluminous in case if proper names are considered to be an inseparable part of a literature text, and they are considered to relate to the text as a part to the whole without any doubts about it.
Studying of orthonyms of literature text as its inseparable part – the third approach in the studying of literature onomastics (the most often it is implemented in researches of representatives of Odessa onomastics school). Throughout inves-tigation of proper names in a literature text we have an opinion that they should be considered comprehensively as orthonyms exist in a literature text not apart but in the system of of orthonym's space. That is why in a literature text there is a need to investigate all existing categories of proper names without being limited by anthroponyms because the orthonym's space of a literature text actively form not just personal names, but also are quite important interrelation and interconditionality of orthonyms of different categories. Besides that there is a need to investigate so called contextual orthonyms – apellatives which are used in a function of proper name in belles-letters.

В статье проанализировано теоретические вопросы, посвящены терминологии украинской литературной ономастики, рассмотрено спор ученых разных ономастических школ (одесской, ужгородской, донецкой) об названии самой дисциплины, рассмотрены три подхода к изучению собственных имен в художественном произведении.
