Bu çalışmanın amacı, Türkiye’ye lisans ve lisansüstü düzeyde eğitim almak amacıyla gelmiş, derslerini Türkçe takip etmek zorunda olan yabancı öğrencilerin, üniversitelerin Türk dili Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezleri’nde verilen Türkçe Hazırlık eğitimi ile ilgili değerlendirmelerini Martin ve White’ın (2005) Değerlendirme Kuramı çerçevesinde sunmaktır. Çalışmada Değerlendirme Kuramının tutum ulamı ve alt ulamlarından duygulanım, yargılama ve ölçme değerlendirme verilerin incelenmesinde temel alınmıştır. Çalışmaya 19-26 yaş aralığında, Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi’nde öğrenim gören 28 yabancı uyruklu öğrenci katılmıştır. Deneklerle yarı yapılandırılmış sözlü görüşmeler yapılmış ve Martin ve White (2005) değerlendirme kuramının tutum ulamına göre verilerin çözümlenmesi yapılmıştır. Bu çözümlemeye göre en çok ölçme ve değerlendirme alt ulamında Türkçe hazırlık eğitimiyle ilintili değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır. Denekler, yaptıkları değerlendirmelerde, dil aracılığıyla gerçekleştirdikleri sosyalleşme süreçleri hakkında da ipuçları vermektedir

The present study aims to analyze the evaluations of foreign students, living in Turkey to do their graduate and undergraduate studies, of the Turkish language preparatory programs with specific reference to the Turkish courses scheduled at Süleyman Demirel University. The evaluations were analyzed within the framework of Martin and White’s (2005) Appraisal Theory. This study concentrates on the major category, attitude, and its sub-categories affect, judgement and appreciation for the linguistic decoding of the evaluations. 28 foreign students, between ages 19-26, registered to Turkish Preparatory Language Programme took part in the study. Semi-structured interviews were held with each participant and the analysis of the data was realized by means of the attitude category and sub-categories- affect, judgement, appreciation, belonging to Martin and White (2005) Appraisal Theory. Of all the evaluations concerning Turkish language teaching programmes, evaluations on the sub-category ‘appreciation’ out number the other evaluative categories. In close examination of the data, it is also possible to observe the language socialization processes of the participants whose main aim is to learnTurkish to be able to follow courses held in Turkish in their respective faculties
