Makale Özeti: This study aims to identify academicians’ views related to performance evaluation, motivation and organizational justice. It is believed that this study will primarily raise the awareness of administrators and academic staff of universities and will contribute to them. Study utilizes qualitative research methods. In order to collect qualitative data semi-structured interview technique was used .Working group consists of 21 academicians employed at the university. Some of the findings are as follows: performance evaluation and motivation are important concepts for organizational life and are interrelated. This relationship should be explained considering individual variables about the academic staff (personal and psychological characters of the academic staff) and organizational variables (manager of organization, other academic staff of organization, organizational facilities provided). Members of organizations compare perceptions regarding performance evaluation results both with their own input and output and with those of others in organizations. Since judgments related to comparison affect motivation and performance, it is instrumental in feelings of justice in organizational applications. Study also reveals state universities in Turkey are in need of transformation in performance evaluation and structural change.
