Karahallı, located in the southeast of Uşak, is the smallest and least populated town of Uşak. When Uşak became a province in 1953, Karahallı, which had been a village, then became a town. For the last 52 years approximately, Karahallı has not observed an increase in its population but people have been emigrating from Karahallı. Karahallı, which has 14 villages, one municipal, and a town center, has experienced emigration and those people have left for Denizli, İstanbul and Uşak city center. It has been foreseen that in order to decrease the rate of emigration, textile industry in the town, residential and commercial characterics of the town, and new agricultural policies must be developed and that the rate of employment must be increased.
