Bu çalışmada 5. ve 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin cinsiyetlerine göre sosyal olgunluk
düzeyleri araştırılmıştır. Çalışma, Bursa'nın İnegöl İlçesindeki 13 ortaokulda
yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini ortaokul 5. ve 6. sınıflardan seçilen 267
öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada Sosyal Olgunluk Ölçeği kullanılmıştır.
Sosyal Olgunluk Ölçeği, altı alt boyuttan oluşan genel bir ölçektir. Bulgularımıza
göre, öğrencilerin sosyal olgunluk düzeyi cinsiyetler arasında anlamlı bir farklılık
(p<0.05) göstermektedir. Nitekim kız öğrencilerin sosyal olguluk düzeyi, erkek
öğrencilerden çok daha yüksektir. Ayrıca cinsiyete göre; çalışkanlık, sorumluluk,
haklara ve özgürlüklere saygılı olma değerleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu
tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları, cinsiyet faktörü ile öğrencilerin sosyal
olgunluk düzeyi ve sahip olduğu değerler arasındaki ilişkiye açıklık getirmektedir.

In this study, the social maturity levels of 5th and 6th class students have been
examined according to their gender. The study was practiced in 13 secondary
schools in İnegöl district of Bursa. The sample of the study are 267 students
chosen from 5th and 6th classes of secondary schools. In the study, Social Maturity
Scale was used. Social Maturity Scale is a general scale consisted of six subdimension.
According to our findings, the social maturity levels of students differ
significantly between gender ( p< 0.05 ). As a matter of fact, female students’
social maturity level is much higher than male students’. Also, according to the
gender; it has been detected that there is a significant relationship between the
values of sedulity, responsibility, being respectful for rights and liberities. The
research results clarify the relationship between students’ social maturity level and
the values they have and gender factor.
