Bu araştırmada 6 ve 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin sosyal bilgiler kavramına ilişkin
algıları metaforlar aracılığıyla incelenmiştir. Araştırma nitel araştırma
yöntemlerinden olgubilim (fenomenoloji) desenine göre tasarlanmıştır.
Belirlenen amaç doğrultusunda 6 ve 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin sosyal
bilgiler………………benzer, çünkü…………………cümlesini
tamamlamaları istenmiştir. Araştırma sürecinde elde edilen veriler içerik
analizi yöntemlerinden kategorisel analiz tekniği ile analiz edilmiştir.
Araştırma sonuçlarına göre 6 ve 7. sınıf öğrencileri toplumsal ilişki,
toplumsal kültür, toplumsal hayat, toplumsal geçmiş, bilgi sağlayıcı ve yol
gösterici ve yaşadığımız coğrafya kategorisine ilişkin metaforlar
üretmişlerdir. Bu kategorilerden en çok toplumsal geçmiş sonra toplumsal
hayat ve en az olarak ise bilgi sağlayıcı ve yol gösterici kategorilerine
ilişkin metafor üretmişlerdir. 6 ve 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin metafor ürettikleri
kategoriler karşılaştırıldığında en çok metafor oluşturulan kategorilerde
benzerlik gösterirken en az oluşturulan kategorilerde ise farklılaşma
olmuştur.

In this research, the perceptions of 6th and 7th grade students regarding the
concept of social studies were examined by way of metaphors. The
research was designed according to the phenomenological pattern which is
one of the qualitative research methods. In line with the target specified,
the 6th and 7th grade students were asked to complete the following
sentence: 'Social Studies resembles ......................., because
...................'The data obtained during the research process were analyzed
by means of categorical analysis technique which is a content analysis
method. According to the research results, the 6th and 7th grade students
created metaphors regarding the categories of social relationship, social
culture, social life, social background, information provider and guide and
the geography that we live in. The highest number of metaphors created for
the category of social background is followed by social life, whereas the
lowest number of metaphors were created for the categories of information
provider and guide. Comparing the categories for which the 6th and 7th
grade students created metaphors, the categories with the highest number
of metaphors are similar and the categories with the lowest number of
metaphors differ
