In this research, it has been studied to identify what the opions of teachers and students in abilty of using
methods and techiniques in geography education. The universe of research is consisted of secondary school
geography teacher who are working in Kırşehir and the students who are in these teachers’ eleventh grade class.
The research has been applied to secondary education geography teachers and their students with a
teacher and student questionarie which was prepared by the research and whose reliability was checked.
The data which were obtained with data collection method have been analysed using frequency (f), percent
(%), arithmetic average ( Χ ), standart to resort (SS) and t- test, suitable for the purposes. The results of analysis
have been commented by getting use of SPSS ( Statistical Package for Social Sciences ).

Bu araştırma, ortaöğretim coğrafya öğretmenlerinin yöntem ve teknikleri kullanabilme yeterlilikleri
konusunda öğretmen ve öğrenci görüşlerinin neler olduğunu tespit etmeyi amaçlamıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini
Kırşehir ilinde görevli ortaöğretim coğrafya öğretmenleri ile bu coğrafya öğretmenlerinin ortaöğretim boyunca
coğrafya derslerine devam eden 11. sınıf öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır.
Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan ve güvenilirliğinin kontrol edildiği öğretmen ve
öğrenci anket formu bire bir görüşme yolu ile uygulanarak toplanmıştır. Veriler amaçlara uygun olarak; frekans (f),
yüzde (%), aritmetik ortalama ( Χ ), standart sapma (SS) ve t-testi uygulanarak analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen
verilerin çözümlenmesi sonucunda hem öğretmen hem de öğrenci görüşlerinde cinsiyete bağlı anlamlı bir fark
bulunmamıştır. Öğrencilerin okul türlerine bağlı olarak görüşlerinde anlamlı fark bulunmaktadır.Uygulamaya
katılan öğretmenlerin meslek, kıdeme bağlı görüşlerinde ise anlamlı bir fark yoktur.
