To be able to adapt to the rapidly changing world, technology and competitive working life, it is required to be good in communication skills and in language efficiency; and this makes a quality education of native language necessary. Regarding this necessity, countries offer a systematic and programmed native language education for their citizens all around the world and shape their education system in accordance with the needs of the era. In 2006, a radical change process took place also in our country and a constructivist education approach was adopted. Within this period, certain actions have been taken with the small-scale changes that were deemed necessary to achieve the projected training outputs. By 2017, the changes in the programs have been continuing. In our educational system, where the constructivist approach is prevalent in general, flexible applications such as including various models that are specific to the certain fields may have a place, as well as these central change and innovation efforts. A model that is suitable to the constructive approach and that can be applied by teachers in the field of native language education is the 5E Instructional Model. In this study, the literature on the "5E Instructional Model", which is appropriate for the constructivist approach and its principles was reviewed and the evidence for the usefulness of the model, which is mostly used in the field of Science, in teaching Turkish, especially in grammar teaching, was examined; and a sample lesson plan has been presented for guiding the teachers.
