Türk boyları arasında destancılık geleneği ve destan metinlerinin zenginliği açısından dikkat çeken Uygur Türkleri, bu köklü geleneği sözlü ve yazılı olarak yüzyıllardır devam ettirmektedir. Son yıllarda sözlü destancılık geleneği siyasi baskılar ve sosyal yaşamdaki değişime bağlı olarak zayıflamıştır. Diğer yandan Çağatay Türkçesiyle yazıya geçirilen ve misyoner, seyyah ya da araştırıcılar tarafından dünyanın farklı ülkelerdeki kütüphanelere götürülen destan metinlerinin de henüz yeterince incelenmediği aşikârdır. Bu noktada özellikle İsveç’te bulunan Gunnar Jarring Koleksiyonu başta olmak üzere Almanya, Rusya, Japonya ve Çin’deki çeşitli kütüphanelerde ve şahısların elinde bulunan destan metinlerinin tespiti, temini ve incelenmesi Türkoloji çalışmaları açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır.
Lund Üniversitesi Gunnar Jarring Koleksiyonu’nda bulunan ve Prov. 280 numara ile kayıtlı olan Yusuf Beg-Ahmed Beg Destanı, başta Uygurlar olmak üzere farklı Türk boyları arasında anlatılan önemli destanlardan biridir. Nüsha, Yarkent’te Gunnar Jarring tarafından bulunmuş, 1982 yılında Gunnar Jarring tarafından Lund Üniversitesi kütüphanesine bağışlanmıştır. Mevcut nüsha, üzerinde çalışma yapılan nüshalara göre daha hacimli ve farklı bir anlatıma sahiptir. Ayrıca destanın şahıs kadrosunda Köroğlu’nun bulunması dikkat çekicidir. Günümüze kadar yapılan çalışmalarda Yusuf Beg-Ahmed Beg Destanı Köroğlu’nun “devamı” olarak nitelendirilmiştir. Destanın diğer nüshalarında Köroğlu’nun ölmüş olduğu ve Köroğlu’na göndermeler yapıldığı ifade edilmiştir. Söz konusu nüsha ise Köroğlu’nun hayatta olması ve destanın şahıs kadrosunda aktif yer alması bakımından önem arz etmektedir.
Çalışmada, Yusuf Beg-Ahmed Beg Destanı’ndan kısaca bahsedilmiş, Köroğlu’nun destandaki kimliği ve olaylara etkisi üzerinde durulmuştur.

Among the Turkish tribes, the Uyghur Turks, who draw attention with regard to the richness of the epic tradition and the epic texts, have been continuing this deep-rooted tradition for centuries orally and in writing. In recent years, the tradition of oral epic has weakened due to political pressures and changes in social life. On the other hand, it is clear that the epic texts, which were written in Chagatai Turkish and which were taken to different libraries of the world by missionaries, travellers or researchers, have not been studied sufficiently. At this point, mainly the Collection of Gunnar Jarring in Sweden the detection, supply and examination of epic texts in the hands of various libraries and individuals in Germany, Russia, Japan and China are of great importance for Turkology studies. Lund University is located in the Gunnar Jarring Collection and Yusuf Beg-Ahmed Beg Epic, registered with number Prov. 280, mainly in the Uyghurs is one of the most important epics among the different Turkish tribes. Copy was found by Gunnar Jarrin in Yarkent and copy was donated to the Lund University Library in 1982. The present copy has a more voluminous and rather intense in terms of narrative. Moreover, it is noteworthy that Köroglu is in the personal staff of epic. Epic of Yusuf Beg-Ahmed Beg has been described as the “continuation” of Köroglu in the studies carried out to date. In other copies of the epic, it was stated that Köroglu was dead and references were made to Köroglu.
Relevant copy, be alive of Köroglu and is important in terms of being active in the personal staff of epic.
In this study; Epic of Yusuf Beg- Ahmet Beg is shortly mentioned and the identity of Köroglu in the epic and his effect to the events is mentioned.
