Makale Özeti: Study on Willingness to Communicate (WTC) in second Language (L2) has become significant in modern language research and instruction. This study aims to explore the perceptions of a group of international EFL PhD students from Iran studying in a public university in Malaysia about the factors influencing their situational L2 WTC. To conduct this study, a qualitative case study method was applied to gain information from 8 participants by semi-structured interview as the main method, followed by focus group discussion and solicited journal diaries of the participants. The analyses of data derived from the research question showed two major themes: interactional and affective factors.
